FAVORITE BRAVES PLAYERS OF THE 1980'S
#140 DREW DENSON
ATLANTA BRAVES 1989
AND ON THE LIST WITHIN A LIST...
COMING IN AT #13 ON THE
BRAVES OF THE 80's
MOONLIGHT GRAHAM AWARD
Drew Denson actually had a pretty good major league career if you compare him to most of the other players on the Moonlight Graham list. He had 9 hits as a Brave for a .250 average during the 1989 season. Drew spent parts of thirteen years in the minors and actually had a couple of good minor league power years before returning to the big leagues with the White Sox in 1993 and compiling one more career hit.
His Brave highlight? Maybe his two-run single in the bottom of the ninth against the Reds on September 22, 1989 to allow the Braves...to only lose to the Reds by five runs. Oh, well. They can't all be game winners.
Despite 158 career minor league home runs, Drew never went yard in the majors.
