First of all, I really like the above card of Jeff Wetherby. It tells the story of a bench player...looking...studying...waiting. Like many of his ilk, Jeff spent several years in the minors before working his way up to the show. He did get 48 at-bats in his lone major league season of 1989 and managed a .208 average. His lone home run was a shot on September 2, 1989 off a pretty good pitcher for the Cubs named Greg Maddux. If you're going to have one career home run, you might as well hit it off the best.
