Tommy never put up big stats, but he was a hard-nosed player who was a bright spot for the Braves in 1989 and 1990. Injuries curtailed his career, as his contributions for the Braves during the World Series seasons was minimal. Tommy also came back with the Braves in 1997 and participated in the post-season that year.
I associate Tommy with the 1989 season and remember his career game on April 18th of that year, going 5 for 5 including the game winning hit in the bottom of the 11th. I hereby declare April 18th Tommy Gregg day for every major league season! Who's with me?
