DAVE CHEADLE

ALPHABETIC LIST OF THE
50 BRAVES PLAYERS OF THE 1970'S
WHO DIDN'T MAKE MY ORIGINAL
100 FAVORITE PLAYER LIST

#8 DAVE CHEADLE
ATLANTA BRAVES 1973

If you blinked in 1973, you probably missed the major league career of Dave Cheadle. Two games. Two innings. One loss. 18.00 ERA. On the bright side, Dave did strike out Pete Rose and get Joe Morgan on a ground out during his brief career.

Dave passed away in 2012 at the age of 60.

  1. He was a highly gifted High School athlete in all three major sports and was a first-round draft choice. He was a good man and a loving father and his strikeout numbers and High School unbelievable

  2. Never heard of him until today, and all because of whiskey. I bought a bottle of "Feild of Dreams" whiskey a year ago. They released around 22k bottles. The bottle number you get is the player/players that debuted in numerical order. I received bottle 13,452. They finally released the list. Dave Cheadle is my bottle. What an interesting rabbit hole I went down. Awesome he struck out the best hitter in baseball. At first I was a little bummed at who I got. After my adventure into digging into he was, I'm glad I have him. I tried to find a baseball card of his but found nothing. I bought a fake one on ebay and an autograph on a post card. Don't know if it's real but it'll be proudly displayed next to my bottle.
