FAVORITE BRAVES PLAYERS OF THE 1980'S
#51 ALEX TREVIÑO
ATLANTA BRAVES 1984
Alex Treviño was sent to the Braves midway through the 1984 season and played 79 games for the team. I remember him well and am surprised he played so few of his career 939 games (over 13 seasons) as a Brave. He did hit three of his career twenty-three homers during his brief Brave stint, including a game winner off Frank Dipino of the Astros on September 4, 1984.
Of course, when I think of Alex Treviño, I also can't help but think of everyone's favorite 70's Tex-Mex golfer, Lee Trevino. Though Lee didn't have an accent on the "n" on his last name.
