#104 EDDIE MILLER

FAVORITE BRAVES PLAYERS OF THE 1980'S
#104 EDDIE MILLER
ATLANTA BRAVES 1978-1981

AND ON THE LIST WITHIN A LIST...
COMING IN AT #2 ON THE

"BRAVES GUYS I INCLUDED IN THE 70'S LIST AND WASN'T GOING TO INCLUDE ON THE 80'S LIST BUT NOW I HAVE TO SINCE I DECIDED TO LIST EVERY SINGLE PLAYER THAT WORE A BRAVES UNIFORM DURING THE 1980'S"

Speedy Eddie Miller was supposed to be the Braves lead-off man for years. It didn't work out that way as things turned out, but he did have some moments, including 23 stolen bases in 1981. His finest moment that year was probably on September 2, 1981 when he singled in the tying run in the ninth inning of that game. He then stole second and then third before scoring the winning run on a sacrifice fly.

The Millerites prediction for the end of the world didn't
come true in 1844 and...I can't remember where I was going
with this.

  1. It's interesting that in his last major league at bat, he homered off Pascual Perez in Atlanta as a member of the Padres: http://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/ATL/ATL198409300.shtml
